Since introducing our performance turbo shields in the spring of 2010, they have only grown in popularity, but there was a missing element to apply this same heat shielding technology in the street/strip market. Utilizing the same high quality materials, we have been able to come up with a new design that meets the needs of this market and allows us to offer these new covers at an affordable price.
Installation kit contains all the accessories needed to install the turbo shields with the maximum efficiency.

Header wraps act as the first line of defense of thermal protection in your engine compartment. Compared to plain fiberglass tape, which provides limited protection, coated header wraps have a coating called vermiculite. The vermiculite coating remains stable up to 1500F, provides 50% more thermal protection and improved abrasion resistance. The vermiculite coating acts like armor when the heat strikes the fabric, causing the heat to travel across the fabric rather than through it.
Installation kit contains all the accessories needed to install the turbo shields with the maximum efficiency.

Colored Exhaust Wrap
In addition to our traditional header wraps, we have introduced a line of special colored wraps. These colors are a unique formula that remains stable approaching temperatures of 1000°F.
At Performance Analysis, we are very particular about the color of our exhaust wraps. While our competition is satisfied selling a Dark Gray colored wrap as their Black, we go to extra steps to make sure our wrap is a True Black. In that regard, we have been working for years to create a Red and Blue wrap that are a quality Red and Blue. The color formula is finally ready. We also have color matched Red Stainless Steel tie wraps to go with the wrap.

Volcano Exhaust Wrap
Volcano wraps are manufactured from crushed lava rock filament fiber; making them stronger and more flexible while operating at its designed service temp of 1800°F continuous and 2500°F intermittent of radiant heat. There is not a header or exhaust insulating wrap on the market today that can withstand temperatures higher and last longer. As an added bonus your exhaust system will have a custom look of carbon fiber.
In the Volcano Dual-Tone Wrap the volcano fiber is converted into the W-wrap pattern, substituting a heat-treated Silica fiber for the Fill direction. This combination produces a unique tone-on-tone Volcano tape that has every bit of the thermal protection as the volcano wrap.

SS Wrap is manufactured using the same weaving process as all of our other wraps, with the addition of Stainless Steel wire added to the process. This process has been used for many years in high temperature wide textiles that needed increased tensile strength, puncture resistance and vibration resistance. Because only a small amount of wire is used, per foot of tape, the wire has negligible effect of the thermal shielding or the weight of the tape. Since SS Wrap is made in the same process, as all of our other wraps, it can likewise be made in any length. It is commonly stocked in 2”x25’, 2”x50’ and 2”x100’ in black and natural.

Stainless Steel Tie Wraps
The SS Flat Ties are the easiest method to secure exhaust wrap and other thermal shielding products. The friction retention method used on these ties has proven very successful. We also offer SS Ladder Ties. These Ladder Ties use a “tang” that locks into the slots in the face of the tie to provide a positive locking method to stop any loosening or backing out. Both ties come in 8” and 14” lengths. The ties are sold in bulk or retail quantity packages.

Stainless Steel Exhaust Shields are custom built to keep the exhaust heat out of the driver’s compartment and away from sensitive components. The outer shell material is a stainless steel foil laminated to a fiberglass cloth; the core insulation material is 1700°F fiber. The foil is folded over itself to sandwich the insulation in place and the entire flap is sewn with Kevlar/ Stainless Steel Thread. Grommets are added for easy attachment. Stainless Steel Foil is preferred over Aluminum Shields and is more cost effective than Inconel.

Flexible Exhaust Shields serve the same purpose as the Stainless Steel Shields, but are preferred by racers that have smaller exhaust pipes or pipes that require more complex bends than the Stainless Steel Shields can accomplish. We have all popular sizes and the ability to make custom shapes to your template.
These shields are constructed of high temperature textiles surrounding a 1700°F, non-ceramic, ½” insulation. On the cool side, thick silicone coated fiberglass is attached for durability. On the hot side, stainless steel mesh is added for abrasive protection and to provide space between the pipe and textile.
The Flexible Exhaust Shields can be attached in 3 ways. Grommets and D-rings are the more popular, traditional methods. A new method, the “Stand-off”, is used to provide a little air-gap between the pipe and the shield; this maximizes effectiveness and adds life to the shield.
